The phrase “before the storm” still carries a profound meaning, immediately bringing to mind the days before August 29, 2005.
Today marks the 19th anniversary of Katrina’s landfall. While the Gulf Coast has made remarkable strides in its recovery, the scars—both visible and invisible—are still felt deeply by many. Below, you’ll find a collection of photos from my archives, capturing the days and weeks following the storm.
